Background
Metales Extruidos was founded in Valladolid (Spain) in 1962 as an independent Spanish group.
1989: Metales Extruidos takes over the extrusion plant of a system designer in Barcelona (Spain).
2008: creation of the Metales Diffusión joint venture between Metales Extruidos and Installux, setting up of MEF (Metales Extrusión France).
For economic and strategic reasons Metales Extruidos regroups all of its productions and services on the historical site of Valladolid in a new production plant of 50,000 m2.
This is the opportunity for the Installux Group to achieve a new vertical integration.
Juillet 2010: Installux takes over the Barcelona production unit and creates IES (Installux Extrusión Services).
MEF is sold.
Septembre 2010: the unit is operational with a staff of 40.
Trade
With a 2,000-tonnes press IES has a yearly production capacity of 6,000 tonnes. Its strategy is to target industrial Clients in search of great reactivity and efficient service.
